Chandler Symphony Orchestra

Cheers to Youth!

Our annual Cheers to Youth! concert takes place this Sunday, November 14 at 3:00pm at the Chandler Center for the Arts. After a year of no Youth Competition in 2020, CSO is thrilled and honored to again present this concert featuring First Place Winner, Jonathan Okseniuk. Jonathan will perform the first movement of Sibelius's lovely Violin Concerto in D minor with the orchestra. A sophomore at Arete Preparatory Academy in Gilbert, Jonathan studies violin with Jing Zeng and has been performing since he was four years old. For the past five years, Jonathan has played as concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, and principal second violin in various local youth orchestras. Currently he is the assistant concertmaster of the Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestra.
To share his gift of music, Jonathan donates his talent by playing the violin at local community events. He also shares his enthusiasm by participating in the music ministry at his church. Although he aspires to become a professional violinist, Jonathan enjoys mountain biking and playing sports with friends.

You just can't miss this concert!
